Tomb Raider an action-adventure platform video game. Tomb Raider is the fifth title developed by Crystal Dynamics in the franchise. As the first entry in a new continuity, the game is a reboot that emphasizes the reconstructed origins of the culturally influential lead character Lara Croft. When Rhianna Pratchett was being brought up throughout her childhood she was brought up in a man’s world and because of this she wanted to do the things boys did. This is where Video Games were introduced she liked her video games but her favorite one that caught her eye was Tomb Raider and it was her favorite mainly because she used to play with her farther, her farther Terry Prachett the owner of Discworld, the only problem with Lara Croft in Rhiannas opinion was that she was created to sexualised and that the game was not providing the experience for women gamers. So when she got Lara Croft she was able to tone down the characteristics of Lara and she made her more realistic.
Game play
Tomb Raider uses a hub-and-spoke model due to this it combines the genres action and adventure, so this includes in the game play character progression, upgrades throughout the game it has also included side quests. In the game it is plat forming, exploration and also survival progression. The new Tomb Raider game is presented in a third person perspective, this means that the player can take control of the lead character (Lara Croft), the estimated time of the games campaign will be between 12 and 15 hours. With the main story, players will be given the chance to do different side quests, they can explore the island, they have the chance to revisit places and also challenge different tombs.
Multiplayer
The fourth episode of final stages of the game Tomb Raider, which was shown live on YouTube on the 8th January 2013, announced that the game would contain multiplayer features. The section of the multiplayer was created by Canadian Video game development studio, this studio is already known for creating the game Dues Ex: Human Revolution. The games developers have released information about the game that there will be three types of game for multiplayer, and this will be played in five different maps. Many different features in the single player campaign will include into the multiplayer. In each section of the game, there will be two enemy teams: Four survivors and four scavengers, and their purpose will be to try to eliminate the opposite team or attempt to bring supplies to different points within the map. A feature which is available to the player is that they will be able to set traps or activate special features, according to the map the game is set in.

Lara Croft is animated this is created by a compiled performance capture, this technique is used in the previous Tomb Raider: Underworld. This game was created on Crystal Dynamics game engine this is called the Crystal Engine.
Game play Showcases
On 31st May 2012, a brand new game play trailer was released on the Internet; this was showing a more action based game play along with certain elements. The trailer also confirms that there are several different non-playable characters besides Lara on the island; these characters appear in the game in a menacing organisation. On 4th June 2012 at Microsoft E3 press conference a game play presentation was shown which had not been seen before this showed the environmental destruction there is within the game also the mild stealth combat using a bow and arrow and also quick events within the game. In 2012 other game plays were shown: they are game plays that show Lara hunting, exploring the island and killing for the first time. They were shown all together in a half-hour length game play without commentary at Euro Gamer Expo at London September 2012. On 8 December 2012, a new trailer was shown during Spike Video Game Awards. At the beginning, an introduction was made by Camilla Ludington and during the event; the trailer was followed by a musical orchestra, led by the music composer, Jason Graves. The next week, IGN presented: Tomb Raider Week. Each day from Monday to Friday, exclusive previews, features and trailers were released, showing more details for the upgrading system, survival tools and challenge tombs. Tomb Raider officially went gold on 8 February 2013.
